The most difficult era for the Quinta of Valdalágea due to the spread of Phylloxera
Cecília Sandeman and Bernardo da Silveira were property owners during the most difficult time in the history of the Douro vineyards. Despite this, they were able to overcome the difficulties associated with the outbreak and after a few years increased production to higher levels than before the phylloxera.
